Austrian Airlines Plane Damaged in Hailstorm

Damaged plane lands safely in Vienna

Hail severely damaged the plane's nose and cockpit windows

An Austrian Airlines A320 was heavily damaged during a hailstorm as it approached Vienna Airport on Sunday afternoon. The plane, which was carrying 173 passengers and six crew members, was on a flight from Palma de Mallorca in Spain. Despite the damage, the plane was able to land safely at Vienna Airport.

The hail reportedly caused extensive damage to the plane's nose and cockpit windows. The plane's windshield was also cracked. The damage was so severe that the plane was unable to fly back to Palma de Mallorca.

The passengers and crew were evacuated from the plane and taken to the airport terminal. No one was injured in the incident.

The Austrian Airlines A320 is a single-aisle, twin-engine jet airliner. It is one of the most popular airliners in the world, with over 1,000 in service.

The hailstorm that damaged the Austrian Airlines plane was part of a larger storm system that affected much of Austria on Sunday. The storm also caused flooding and power outages in some areas.
